Avena Sativa is an extract that is obtained from wild oats. The extract tends to release the bound testosterone in the male and female body, giving rise to the capability of an enhanced sexual performance. This herb should not be confused with milk thistle or for that matter with any other members belonging to the thistle family. Blessed thistle is known by other names too; bitter thistle, holy thistle, spotted thistle, Carbenia benedicta , Chardon Benit, Cnici benedicti herba, cardin, St. Benedict thistle, just to name a few.

Damiana is a shrub belonging to the family of Turneraceae. Even though it is a small shrub, it produces aromatic, small flowers. It is generally found in the regions of South America, Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. It is also a fruit bearing shrub. The flowers generally blossom in late summer on the damiana shrub. Then the fruits follow. The fruit it bears is quite similar in taste to figs. It emits a smell which is quite similar to the odor of chamomile. The oils present in the shrub are reason behind this odor. It is said to have aphrodisiac properties. Natives of south and Central America use the leaves to make tea. In Mexico, the tea made with damiana leaves is generally drunk with sugar so as to increase the love making ability.

Fennel seed goes well with Italian sausages and curry powder mixes. Fennel has the flavor of anise, but is sweeter, aromatic and less pungent. The name is acquired from ‘marathon’, the Greek word in reference to the famous battle that was fought against the Persians in the Fennel field. Fennel seeds are added to meat loaf and meatballs as it gives authentic flavor. This Italian flavor is highly preferred. The fennel seeds are saute with onion, sausage and sliced peppers to make pasta sauce. Fennel seeds are obtained from an aromatic medicinal plant. However, this seed emits pleasant flavor and is highly aromatic. The pungent flavor has made it a prominent ingredient as a spice to enhance the flavor of foods. This seed has essential oils and make strong seasoning.

Fenugreek- Greek hay is known as fenugreek and Trigonella foenum-graecum, where the leaves are being used as an herb and the seeds are being used as a spice. It is not really clear where fenugreek originated, but reports of the use go back to almost four thousand years Ante Christum. Traditionally it was used by the Chinese herbalists to treat digestive problems, wounds, bronchitis, arthritis and male sexual dysfunctions. Houpu, which is how Chinese call magnolia officinalis bark, contains polyphenolic compounds, mangolol, which is a bioactive compound with antifungal properties; and honokiol, a biphenolic compound which is known as an anxiolytic, anti-emetic, anti-depressant, antithrombotic and anti-bacterial. Honokiol in particular is a very potent anti-tumorigenic and neurotrophic compound, used to combat melanoma, leukemia, myeloma and sarcoma, as well as a multitude of cancers. It is also a known promoter of neurite outgrowth and has neuroprotective effects. There are no adverse effects known.
